San Antonio, Texas - Part 1

 Blog post #11

This post will have lots of photos because we did a lot of sightseeing in San Antonio and it was hard to edit the photos.  San Antonio is probably best known as the home of the Alamo fort and battle.  The fort is no longer there but it is still an interesting place to visit and learn about the history of the struggles between Texas and Mexico.

The other famous site in San Antonio is the River Walk.  It is a meandering part of the San Antonio river that winds its way through a channel that serves to protect the downtown from flooding.  Of course the real interest is all the restaurants and bars that line the river walk and the boats that cruise along with tourists (like us) and people celebrating various events. It was great fun!

The River Walk was spectacular at night!
