Atlas Obscura and THE END

 Blog post #29

I'm not sure who is still reading these posts, but thank you to those who are!  I did this blog so that friends, family, and my students could keep up with our travels.  I felt like I was taking you along on the road with us.  I wasn't really sure anyone would be interested in reading it, so a real heart-felt THANKS for following along!  Sorry that it was a problem for many of you that wanted to make comments.  Not sure why it didn't work for most people.

One last thing to talk about.  Before we left, Bob heard about an App that would tell you some weird, interesting, or strange sites around your location.  The App is called Atlas Obscura.  We used it many times along the way finding obscure and interesting sites to break up our drives.  I thought I'd show you some of those in my last post.

The Cementiscope in Norfolk, VA - look in one end and see a kaleidoscope view of the person looking in the other end

The (Second) Largest Road Runner Statue in the Country - Ft. Stockton, TX

The Largest Road Runner Statue in the Country and the Largest Chile Pepper -  Las Cruces, NM

Cadillac Ranch -  Amarillo, TX  10 buried Cadillacs buried nose down.  You can buy spray paint and add your own designs

Slug Buggy Ranch - Amarillo, TX  a collection of VW bugs that you could also spray paint.

The Leaning Tower of Texas - Groom, TX on Route 66 (we took this from the car since it was raining pretty hard.)

So that's it!  We've been home for a week and back in our groove of life.  It was an awesome adventure that we will never forget...especially cause I've got most of it documented in this blog!!

Thanks again to all who followed along!  It was a blast!!

THE END!!!
